Wine country eats: comfort food with a seasonal, sophisticated twist

After the birth of his son Jackson, chef and owner Josh Silvers began looking for a family-friendly yet hip place in downtown Santa Rosa where he could get some of his favorite comfort foods. And when he didn’t find it, he decided to create it. Josh and his wife Regina opened Jackson’s Bar and Oven in 2009.

Through its menu, service, and ambience, Jackson’s showcases an attention to detail usually reserved for more upscale venues. The dishes feature the abundance of organic, seasonal ingredients that Sonoma County is famous for. The breads, mustards, pickles and more are crafted in-house. Gluten-free options abound. And when you sit down at the bar for a glass of wine or an artisanal cocktail, you’ll notice it’s gently curved to facilitate conversation.

Whether you’re here for a quick lunch, dinner with the kids, post-work happy hour, or dessert and a nightcap, you’ll find a warm welcome and wine-country style.
